Two Downtown Theaters Launch Their Seasons

This weekend in Downtown Rochester is packed with entertainment, as two local theaters launch their new seasons with exciting productions you won’t want to miss!


First up, Rochester Civic Theatre is premiering "Newsies," the hit musical that took Broadway by storm and is based on the beloved Disney film. Set in turn-of-the-century New York City, this high-energy show tells the story of a group of newsboys who band together to fight for justice. With its incredible choreography, memorable songs, and heartwarming message of standing up for what's right, "Newsies" is the perfect family-friendly production that will have you tapping your feet and cheering along with the crowd!

When a group of Women’s Institute members decide to pose for a risque calendar to raise money for leukemia research, they discover unexpected fame, friendship, and courage. This hilarious and heartwarming tale celebrates the strength of community and the power of everyday people to make a difference. Get ready to laugh and maybe shed a few tears at this feel-good production.
