1. Free Family Day: Celebrating Women in the Arts
Sunday, March 30 | Rochester Art Center

Rochester Art Center invites the community to a special Free Family Day: Celebrating Women in the Arts on Sunday, March 30. This engaging event offers a fun and educational experience for all ages, highlighting the impact of women in the arts through interactive activities and inspiring conversations. Guests can enjoy a Collector’s Spotlight Tour with Ruth Klawiter, featuring architect-designed chairs from her personal collection, as well as hands-on art activities that spark creativity. Live bluegrass music by Down Home and Friends will begin at 2:30pm. Light refreshments will be provided, making it a perfect day for families to explore, create and celebrate together.

2. Dancing Downtown
Tuesday, April 1 | Historic Chateau Theatre

Rochester Downtown Alliance is proud to bring FREE group dance lessons from 6-8pm in Historic Chateau Theatre! Whether you're an experienced dancer or have never put on your dancing shoes, come enjoy a fun evening of dancing, brought to you by instructors from our local USA Dance Chapter.

3. Open Mic Night
Thursday, April 3 | Cafe Steam (Broadway)

From first time performers to the experienced, spoken word artists to poets, we welcome performance artists of all kinds to the Cafe Steam on Broadway stage to come together once again and share in creating a beautiful art-filled space

4. Mini Golf & Chairs
Wednesday-Sunday through May 4 | Rochester Art Center

This exhibition features a fun mix of chairs created by world-renowned architects and a mini golf course designed by regional artists. Take this unique opportunity to learn about the history of modern chairs and share meaningful memories with others, while playing a one-of-a-kind miniature golf course.
$5 for a Play Pass includes one round of mini golf and $45 for a Punch Card includes ten rounds of mini golf. Admission fees apply to nonmembers 21 and up.

5. Library Events
Every day of spring break | Rochester Public Library

There are events every day at the Rochester Public Library for both youth and adults during the week of spring break. Events include things like April Fools' Day Scavenger Hunt, Craft & Chat, Dinosaur Dance Party, Under the Sea Family Story Time, Feel Good Fiction Book Group and much more!

6. The Creative Studio 
Fridays and Saturdays through May 31 | Rochester Art Center

The Creative Studio provides art making activities for visitors of all ages, inviting them to engage their imaginations and turn ideas into artwork. Visitors can participate in self-led art activities inspired by the exhibitions and artwork currently on view at the museum. All materials are provided. A Creative Studio Assistant will be on hand to welcome visitors and to answer questions. There is no fee for members. The fee for non-members is $5 at the front desk.

7. Art & Craft Classes

April 2, 3, 6 | Art Heads Emporium

Art Heads Emporium offer a variety of art classes for all ages, no prior experience necessary. In their studio you can find crystals, local art, jewelry and thrifted oddities to shop during all business hours. They explore creativity in a bright, playful, and relaxing environment. They believe creating art is essential to everyone's life and hope that their space reflects this too!

8. Get Brunch Downtown

Downtown offers over 10 breakfast/brunch spots! Whether you love a sweet or savory breakfast, there are a number of amazing restaurants offering breakfast menus in Downtown. Try a Pannekoeken (a Dutch souffled pancake) at Hollandberry Pannekoeken or a classic Eggs Benedict at Benedict's Rochester.
