Fall Fun in Downtown Rochester, MN

Fall is upon us! We're experiencing lower temperatures, changing leaves and earlier sunsets. While activities are starting to move more indoors, there's still tons to do in Rochester's Downtown. 

Here are just a few of the exciting fall and Halloween events coming up for you, your family and your friends to enjoy this October and November. 

Moonrise Paint Class | Thursday, October 17, 6:30-9pm at Art Heads Emporium

This paint class will be guided, step by step on a 16x20 inch canvas. Background colors are always customizable. Never painted before? You’re in the right place, we can’t wait to make art with you! We supply all materials you will need, bring yourself or a group of friends. Ages // 8+

Hairball | October 18, 7pm at Mayo Civic Center

Performing the music hits from Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey, Aerosmith, and more, Arena Rock tribute band Hairball is coming to Mayo Civic Center on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mayo Civic Center Box Office and Ticketmaster.com.

Creepy Dolls: Circus After Dark | Saturday, October 19, 6-10pm at Historic Chateau Theatre

The Dolls invite everyone for an enigmatic evening to enjoy their circus-themed party. This spine-chilling event will include a full dinner, cash bar, costume contest, DJ & dancing, circus entertainment, and more! Visit with dolls and fellow ghosts and ghouls for an unforgettable celebration. Information regarding the dolls, event menu, museum exhibit, and more can be found here.

This 18+ event will be from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm for the cost of $50. Tickets are pre-sale only, and we will not be accepting walk-ins this year.

Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors Opens | Thursday, October 24 at Rochester Civic Theatre

Just in time for Halloween! Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors is guaranteed to increase your pulses and cause blood curdling screams... of laughter. This laugh-out-loud re-imagining of the gothic classic, perfect for audiences of all blood types. Join Famed female vampire hunter Jean Van Helsing and company as they chase Count Dracula from Transylvania to London and back!

Playing: October 24, 25, 26 at 7pm, 27 at 2pm; October 31, November 1, 2 at 7pm, November 3 at 2pm.

Downtown Candy Crawl | Saturday, October 26, 12-3pm in Peace Plaza

Get ready for a spooktacular Halloween experience in downtown Rochester!

The family-friendly 2024 Downtown Candy Crawl is taking place on Saturday, October 26, from 12-3pm. Come in your best costume and enjoy music, games, and photo booth on the Peace Plaza, along with trick-or-treating throughout downtown at participating local businesses.

The Downtown Candy Crawl Map will be available on Thursday, October 24. Printed copies will be available at the Chateau Theatre (Peace Plaza) and Threshold Arts (311 S Broadway).

Warren Miller's 75: A New Chapter Feature Film Premiere | Sunday, October 27, 4-6pm at Historic Chateau Theatre

Warren Miller is going big for 75 years! Stacked with unbelievable action and unexpected stories, Warren Miller’s 75 will bring fans to powder stashes and chutes around the world, from Canada, Colorado, California, and Utah to Finland, Japan, Austria, and New Jersey. Catch a diverse lineup of snowsports legends, Olympic hopefuls, world champions, X Games stars, and emerging talents on the big screen this fall, including snowboarders Shaun White, Jeremy Jones, Danny Davis, and Toby Miller, plus skiers Max Hitzig, Lexi duPont, Caite Zeliff, Mark Abma, and Aaron Blunck.

With original segments and unique collaborations, this year’s film will set the tone for the next 75 years of ski and snowboard filmmaking. Get ready for the celebration that is “75”.

FEAST! Local Foods Marketplace | Saturday, November 2, 10am-4pm at Mayo Civic Center

Sip, sample and shop the region’s best local food and craft alcohol at the 11th Annual Feast! Local Foods Marketplace. The nonprofit, family-fun festival returns. Sample 100s of delicious, locally-made products from all over Minnesota, Wisconsin & Iowa—cheese to chocolate, meat to macarons, and beer to bread—while enjoying music, giveaways, cooking demos, and kids’ activities! Advance general admission tickets are $8 ($10 at the door). VIP tickets, including admission, alcohol sampling & a commemorative tasting glass, are $25 in advance ($30 at the door). Kids under 12 are free.

Puzzle Night | November 6, 6-9pm at Historic Chateau Theatre

Calling all puzzle lovers! All are welcome at Puzzle Night. Meet other jigsaw enthusiasts for non-competitive puzzling and puzzle swapping. Put together one of the puzzles provided or bring your own. If participating in the swap, bring puzzles to exchange with others and go home with something new(ish)!

This event is free & open to the public. Participants are encouraged to pre-register using the link below to help organizers gauge attendance.

Nurse Blake | November 8, 7/10pm at Mayo Civic Center

Sharing all new stories with a comedic twist of the ins and outs of being a nurse, comedian Nurse Blake will bring his new Shock Advised Tour to Mayo Civic Center on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mayo Civic Center Box Office and Ticketmaster.com.
