These advanced students in Graphic Design/Digital Arts worked remotely with Glaros through several virtual workshops over the course of the semester. She trained them in the process and techniques of the compassionate storytelling style she has honed in her eight years of experience. She introduced photography techniques, including portraiture and the active listening skills needed for this type of project. Students learned how to draw out a story and thoughtfully photograph their subjects. In her own work, Glaros creates connections between people of all backgrounds and celebrates who they are. John Marshall students were inspired by her teachings as they took on this project with volunteer student subjects who believed in this project and were eager to show the community who they are. The result of this project includes 30 large scale portraits showcasing the diversity of John Marshall students. This activity is made possible by the generous support of Rochester Public Schools Foundation, Rotary Clubs of Rochester and Mayo Clinic.
