The second design and architecture webinar for Rochester Rapid Transit—a high-frequency, high-amenity rapid bus transit service planned to begin service in 2025—will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 20, from Noon to 1:00 p.m.
This webinar will provide an update on the project and specifically share the process being undertaken to design the 11 dedicated transit stations to be constructed at seven locations along the 2.6 mile route. These are no ordinary bus stops. Meet the project team and share your thoughts and questions in this interactive, live webinar.
To register, visit the project website at rochestermn.gov/rapidtransit.
The Rochester Rapid Transit Project is a proposed 2.6-mile bus rapid transit (BRT) route along 2nd Street SW that will connect downtown Rochester, the Mayo Civic Center, Mayo Clinic campuses, and the Rochester-Olmsted Government Center.
Rochester Rapid Transit will operate daily spanning the entire service day. The frequent service will includes trips every 5 minutes during peak times and every 10 minutes off-peak. In addition to frequent service the new service will feature dedicated stations with amenities including shelter, heating, light, real-time schedule signage, and fare payment machines. Use of dedicated lanes will help in providing fast, reliable transit service. The project will support the livability and economic development goals of our community by connecting people to jobs, healthcare, education and recreation, and reducing traffic congestion on our roadways.
A recording of the webinar and a PDF with all questions and answers will be available on the project website after the webinar is complete for those who are unable to attend.
