Portrait Express: At-Home Acrylic Painting with Pat Dunn-Walker
A virtual class on how to paint a portrait

In conjunction with the Lifeline, Portraits of Rochester Essential Workers exhibition, Rochester Art Center is offering a virtual class taught by Rochester artist Pat Dunn-Walker, a current exhibiting artist. . Participants will gain a working knowledge of the mechanical elements of portraiture such as proportion and shading. Via video tutorial, Dunn-Walker will briefly discuss different styles of portraiture and then each artist will create their own self or other portrait at their own pace. Artists will then gather via Zoom for a check-in with the instructor and each other, get more work time on their own, then check in for a final critique via Zoom. Basic painting supply kits are provided for use in class (paint, canvas, and brushes) Please have an 8x10 front view of your portrait subject to work from.

Session 2: Saturday January 9th - pick up kits and access the video tutorial, Wednesday January 13th 7:00 PM Check-in on your progress with the instructor and classmates via Zoom, Saturday January 16th 1:00 PM Final Critique with the instructor and classmates via Zoom.

Tuition per session:
$75 General Public
$65 Art Center Members

Tuition includes instruction and basic painting supplies to use during class. Experienced artists may use their own favorite supplies in addition to the basic supplies if desired.
