Shop Small in Downtown Rochester
Downtown Rochester takes the next step in transforming your regular shopping trip into an authentic experience. With over 60 locally owned shops lining the streets (and subways!) of Downtown, there is truly an experience like none other. Head to the shops on November 24 and start your holiday shopping early on Small Business Saturday.
Celebrating its 9th year, Small Business Saturday is a day to celebrate the businesses that create jobs, boost the economy, and preserve neighborhoods around the country. Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede even declared the last Saturday in November as the official “Small Business Saturday” day! This year, Downtown Rochester has 24 businesses offering a variety of sales and activities for customers to purchase. Looking to start the holiday festivities even earlier? Head Downtown on November 23 from 4PM-8PM for Here Comes Santa Claus! Spend the evening touring Downtown Rochester while sipping on hot cocoa, writing letters to Santa, singing live holiday tunes and so much more (link to activities blog here). The night doesn’t end there (link to overall HCSC blog here)! Watch as Santa Claus is rescued atop old city hall and then head to the Peace Plaza to see Rochester’s tallest tree light up the square.
