Typically, he only comes once a year, but Rochester is a place Santa Claus holds dear. Here Comes Santa Claus November 26 presented by the Rochester Downtown Alliance and Altra Federal Credit Union is a multi-generational holiday tradition in Rochester. Here is all the festive fun to expect from this event.

Schedule of festivities

We are jingle bell rockin’ a new Here Comes Santa Claus schedule of events now that it is now a daytime spectacular. It all kicks off at 2 p.m. with the daring rescue of Santa Claus from the rooftop of Residences of Old City Hall. Somehow, Santa always seems to get stuck, which makes this a uniquely Rochester holiday tradition. As soon as he is safely on the ground, thanks to the Rochester Fire Department, follow him and Mrs. Claus for more merriment to photos with Santa from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. in Galleria at University Square and Santa’s Magical Workshop from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at Chateau Theatre. As a finale, the annual tree lighting ceremony in Peace Plaza will be the countdown to the holiday season. And the elves are hard at work planning a downtown scavenger hunt throughout the event. So load up the family, head over the Zumbro River and through Chester Woods to downtown for Here Comes Santa Claus fun!

Parking

An early holiday present to all who attend Here Comes Santa Claus is free parking in downtown ramps! Guide your sleigh...we mean car...to the 3rd Street or Center Street ramps, which are within walking distance of all the merriment.
