Shining a Light on Gwaltney Group, a 2019 Thursdays Downtown Partner

The Gwaltney Group is just one of many community-minded partners that makes Thursdays Downtown successful! The Rochester Downtown Alliance (RDA) is appreciative of its partnership and wants to shine the spotlight on them! Let's learn a little more about the organization from Brian Ness, the Gwaltney Group's marketing coordinator!

Katie: Brian, thank you for sharing more about the Gwaltney Group of RE/MAX Results! Please tell us about the organization.

Brian: We have been selling real estate in Rochester and the surrounding communities for more than 20 years. We formed the Gwaltney Group in 2013. This original group of four has grown exponentially over the last few years, currently consisting of 26 members. The Gwaltney Group consists of top-notch real estate agents, a superb administrative staff, as well as a truly one-of-a-kind marketing director. The Gwaltney Group prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service and striving to go above and beyond clients' expectations. We realize that buying or selling a home can be an overwhelming process. But with our vast knowledge and expertise, the Gwaltney Group can help make this a much less stressful and, in fact, exciting and enjoyable experience. Not only is the Gwaltney Group the largest real estate team in southern Minnesota, we are also the most productive. In 2018, we sold 333 properties with more than $92 million in volume. Gwaltney Group is proud to be affiliated with RE/MAX Results, the number one brokerage in southern Minnesota.

Katie: Why is the Gwaltney Group involved in community events?

Brian: As real estate agents, we feel that it is our civic duty to to be involved in the community. Being a diverse group of people, we naturally have varying interests and gravitate to different areas of community involvement. We enjoy participating in many volunteer events, serving on the housing leadership board for the City of Rochester, as well as engaging in numerous sporting events. We strive to make our community a wonderful place for our clients and their families along, with our own families to live, work, and play.

Katie: Why does the organization partner with the RDA for Thursdays Downtown?

Brian: We are so excited to be partnering with the Rochester Downtown Alliance (RDA) for Thursdays Downtown! We love the sense of community that we all experience each Thursday downtown during the summer months. It is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the delicious food, shop the handmade crafts, and listen to some lively entertainment. It is also a special time to socialize with our friends, family and colleagues.
The Gwaltney Group is especially  thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the RDA and host 'Fun and Games with The Gwaltney Group' on 3rd Street on the last Thursday of June, July and August. We are delighted to show our appreciation to our past, present, and even future clients by providing a fun atmosphere with food, drinks and games.

Katie: In the time the Gwaltney Group has been selling real estate, what is the most unique feature of a house you’ve sold (or seen)?

Brian: We have literally sold thousands of houses. So when asked what the most unique feature of a house we've sold is, one particular house immediately comes to mind. This house has a tree growing directly through it, thereby giving a whole new meaning to the term 'Tree House'!

Katie: I'm sure buyers are dying to know when is the best time to put their house on the market. What advice would you have?

Brian: There is never a bad time to buy a house. Although some people think there is a short selling season in Minnesota, we feel that is not true at all. With our current market conditions and low mortgage interest rates, there has never been a better time to buy or sell real estate in Rochester. If you are hearing from other agents that they cannot sell your house at a specific time of year, give us a call!
